The presentation, tone, and emphasis on the negatives in this video seem overwhelming. By now, everyone is aware of Jamaica's issues with violence, poverty, and the government's treatment of its people. This should be common knowledge. My issue with this video is that it portrays these problems as if they are all Jamaica has to offer, overshadowing everything else. Jamaica is a beautiful place with resilient people who endure poverty and a harsh government, and yet still manage to smile, laugh, and enjoy life with the little that they have. The way some questions were asked within this video felt rhetorical and condescending. Do you still sleep in that bed, on the water, "Where else do you expect her to sleep, when she has introduced you into her home," would you like help from the government, No SHit Sherlock! - It's just his way and tone of everything that feels so damn wrong, like maybe interviewing is just not his calling, or maybe he needs to understand others more, read the room more, able to put himself into others' shoes more. I've not been to Jamaica in 13 Years and will be returning home soon, I've lived In the ghetto throughout my time in Jamaica, and one thing I can say is that the people are already aware of their struggles, why ask questions with obvious answers? These questions, posed by someone who could never understand their struggle, don't you think the way and tone they were presented might make the people uncomfortable. But hey, Maybe it's just me, but I've seen many videos about Jamaica that also highlight the negatives, yet none have conveyed the same negative energy as this one. If it's just me, I'll accept that. However, this video will not receive a like from me.
